Alright then. I have recently decided to upgrade my rating system for the bad movies I watch. Bad movies effectively come in at two different levels. They can be so bad that they are funny, eg "Troll 2", or so bad you want to stab your own eyes out with a pencil, eg "Ankle Biters".

Movies that score highly 'so bad it's funny' (or SBIF) are definately worth a watch. Disastorously bad movies that will keep you laughing throughout.

On the other hand, movies that destroy your brain cells with such ineptness via extreme boredom, or terrible production are only worth a watch, if like me, you are curious to find out just how bad a movie can get. You have been warned, movies that score highly in the 'BRAINMELT' catogory are like nothing you will have ever experienced before, and will probably not want to experience again.

If a movie scores low in both catogories, then it means it is just a regular trashy b-movie. Not that good, but doesn't try to be more than it is. If a movie scores highly in both, then it is probably an utterly inept and terrible movie, with occasional moments of unintensional genius (take 'Strike Commando's final bare fisted fight betwwen Reb Brown and the big bad Russian guy ... Fantastic!).

This should all make it easier to determing which movies to source for a great bad movie night, and which ones to get so that you can wish them upon your enemies.
